Hi, I’m Jessica.

I am a professor, licensed counselor, writer, speaker, and lifelong student of the human experience.

Throughout my career, I have been drawn to the same questions:

What helps people endure difficult seasons of life?

How do we heal after loss, trauma, disappointment, or change?

What allows us to stay connected to ourselves and one another when life feels uncertain?

My work sits at the intersection of education, clinical practice, research, and community engagement. Across these roles, I remain fascinated by how people cultivate resilience, find belonging, and create meaningful lives in the face of adversity.

My professional interests include suicidality, grief, trauma, perfectionism, relational resilience, cultural resilience, identity development, and the ways individuals and communities navigate challenge and growth. Whether I am working with a counseling client, consulting with a clinician, speaking to a school community, training helping professionals, or writing an essay, my goal remains the same: to help people better understand themselves and move through life with greater clarity, connection, and courage.

Over the years, I have delivered presentations across state, national, and international venues, contributed to counselor education textbooks and professional publications, appeared on podcasts and media outlets, and collaborated with colleagues who share a commitment to making helping professions more compassionate, ethical, and effective.

But beyond the credentials, I am also a mother, reader, traveler, educator, and storyteller. I believe that healing and growth rarely happen through information alone. They happen through connection, reflection, and the experience of feeling seen.

Whether you’ve arrived here seeking support, consultation, training, or simply a new perspective, I’m glad you’re here.
